Living Well - Diabetes Self-Management Program - Session 4
Community Connection of Northeast Oregon, Inc. (CCNO), in partnership with Northeast Oregon Network (NEON), is excited to host another Living Well - Diabetes Self-Management Program (DSMP) workshop series at our Baker County CCNO office. This DSMP workshop is held once a week for six (6) weeks. Each session is 2.5 hours. Each workshop consists of 8-12 participants, are highly interactive, focuses on building skills, sharing experiences, and support. Facilitated by trained leaders living with or who have a loved one living with Diabetes, community members who attend this fun and interactive DSMP workshop series will learn about: 1. Techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain, and isolation. 2. Appropriate exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance. 3. Appropriate use of medication. 4. Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health care professionals. 5. Nutrition. 6. Decision making. 7. How to evaluate new treatments. This DSMP workshop is appropriate for people of all ages living with a chronic disease, their loved ones, and their caregivers.
