Tai Chi Fundamentals Workshop – Tai Chi for Health Instructor: Dianne Erickson Date: Sunday, October 27 Time: 11:30am to 2:00 pm Location: Downstairs Studio, CCAC Cost: $25.00 for CCAC members or $37.50 for nonmembers Minimum number of students: 4 Maximum: 12 How is Tai Chi for Health different from other exercise and fitness systems? Come and experience the difference and possibilities for yourself in this introductory workshop. Many people have found that practicing Tai Chi helps them • Improve Posture and Balance • Gain Better Coordination • Maintain and Improve Range of Motion • Improve Strength and Endurance • Manage Chronic Pain • Improve Circulation and Blood Pressure • Enhance Creative Thinking • Focus on goals • Cultivate Better Breathing Habits • Manage Stress and Balance Emotions • Improve and Maintain Better Energy Levels throughout the Day Designed especially for students who are new to the practice of Tai Chi, we will cover basic movement patterns that that are fun, easy to learn and will provide a good foundation for moving into the more complex forms of Tai Chi and Qi Gong (see 10/29 through 12/03 class below). Level of exertion will be similar to walking. All exercises are adaptable for anyone who needs to be in a seated position. Age: Adults. No previous experience necessary; Note: Participants will need to sign a release confirming their readiness to participate in the physical activities of this class and, if necessary, obtain clearance from their health care professional before commencing. Students should wear clothing and footwear that are comfortable and appropriate for exercise. Shoes are required. In consideration of those with sensitivities, please refrain from wearing any strong fragrances.
